According to details, the former Pakistani cricketer and current chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan met with New Delhi CM to discuss matters of governance. According to Imran, both discussed ideas on how to tackle corruption and recognised how both their parties had been formed to challenge the status quo.
“We exchanged our experiences in governance in both our regions (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan) and Delhi,” said the former cricketer.
“Our parties were formed against status quo parties. Our ideas like good governance and fighting corruption are very similar. We’ll be in touch on these issues,” said Kejriwal, who had also tweeted about his meeting with the 1992 cricket world cup winning captain.
Imran also told how he had extended an invite to Kejriwal to come to KP, where his party the PTI enjoys the popular mandate and has formed the government. Arwind Kejriwal accepted Imran’s invitation to come to Pakistan.
“I also invited him to Kyber Pakhtunkhwa which he accepted,” said Khan.
Imran Khan went to India on March 18 along with politician Sheikh Rasheed to buck up team Pakistan against their high voltage clash with arch rivals India. Pakistan ended up losing the match to India after batsman Virat Kohli and Mahendra Singh Dhoni successfully warded off the Pakistani bowling attack to chase the target.
Imran also suggested a cricket series between both the countries.
“A cricket series will be a huge affair, which will benefit the cricket boards of both the countries,” he said. However, Imran claimed India had not responded positively to Pakistan’s demands for a cricket series.
“India is a powerful country; therefore, there is also an element of arrogance, which is a hurdle in the way to a series,” he said.
