PESHAWAR: Speaking over the incident in the accountability court, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Friday said that a drama was staged deliberately as it is known that Nawaz Sharif would be eventually punished.
“There was drama in Islamabad today, the court was attacked,” he said speaking about the incident in which lawyers created a ruckus outside the court abruptly deferring the indictment of the Sharif family in a corruption reference case.
“Nawaz knows that he will be punished for money laundering,” he said. “They are only concerned about protecting their personal wealth.”
He further said that entire Sharif family is making complete effort to escape conviction in money laundering. “They know that if Nawaz is convicted then the money abroad will come back to Pakistan.”

Imran also lashed at incumbent prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi calling a ‘puppet’ in the hands of Sharif, and threatened to take to the street if there was any attempt to obstruct justice.
“If Abbasi’s puppet government goes away, let it be, we will not let democracy wither away,” he said adding that pack of thieves have hijacked the government.
He alleged that Nawaz has stashed 300 billion rupees abroad, and is still questioning why he was ousted by the courts.
He also lashed at Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari calling him a ‘disease’ and said that people like him and Nawaz Sharif loot public wealth to build palaces abroad.
Zardari, who is currently in Peshawar since past four days, had criticised the PTI-led government for his promise of change in Khyber Pakhtunkwa and allegation there was corruption in Peshawar.
However, Imran said Zardari speaking about corruption is a sign of doomsday, and instead he and his sister Faryal Talpur have filed a defamation notice against him.

“Zardari and Faryal Talpur have filed a defamation case against him,” he said. “I have exposed their corruption which is causing immense trouble to him.”
“Let me be known that we will form the next government in KP and in Sindh,” he said. “I am going to Sindh to break the shackles of fear.”
Imran Khan claimed that over a thousand billion rupees was being looted per year, which if invested can change the fate of the nation. Instead, he said that Pakistan is forced to seek loans from the IMF and indebted nations have no respect the international community.
“Zardari and Nawaz Sharif are stealing money to build palaces abroad,” he said. “Due to money laundering, we are compelled to get loans from the IMF.”
He said that Pakistan has immense potential and talent, but still face immense problems and politics is being done sometimes in the name of Pakhtuns and religion, taking a direct jibe at his rival Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, chief of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F).
He questioned why Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman and Pakthunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) chief Mahmud Achakzai are creating obstacles in the merger of FATA in KP. He also lashed at Awami Muslim League chief Asfandyar Wali for his increasing closeness to Zardari.
He said that there is a social boycott of those caught in corruption, while those in Pakistan are roaming around in cavalcades and are provided a protocol.
“Maryam Nawaz was waving outside the court as if she has won the World Cup,” he quipped adding that PTI will imprison the looters even it comes to power.
He said that PTI is a ray of hope and will strengthen institutions. “If Institutions work with their limit, then no one can stop development of the nation.”
