KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said on Friday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan made an unwarranted hue and cry over denying entry to the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar after a party public meeting in Sehwan.
He was talking to journalists outside the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam here, where Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) workers and supporters were gathered to express their solidarity with the people of Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) on Kashmir’s Accession Day.
CM Sindh said that the local administration was not informed about Imran Khan’s surprise visit to the shrine.
“The PTI leaders did not inform the authorities about Khan’s visit to the shrine [and] it was neither mentioned in the schedule provided by the party,” Shah asserted.
PTI – as a political party – has a right to hold public rallies across the country and its chairman had arrived in Sindh, the CM Sindh said while dispelling an impression that Khan’s public meeting caused disquiet in Sindh’s ruling Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP).
On Kashmir issue, CM Sindh said that the PPP has always been highlighting the Indian atrocities in the IoK.
The party has announced a ‘solidarity walk’ today (Friday) on the Kashmir’s 70 years of accession. A large number of party workers and supporters were holding placards inscribed with ‘Free Kashmir’ slogans.
The provincial cabinet members and deputy speaker of Sindh Assembly’ Shehla Raza were also present on the occasion.
