LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Schools Education Murad Raas on Tuesday said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is speedily working to provide quality education to the student, ARY News reported.
Presiding over an important meeting at his office here today to discuss various aspects of educational reforms roadmap 2018-23, the minister said that provincial schools education department has started working on educational roadmap which focuses on teachers’ training providing best available facilities to government-run schools.
The meeting discussed various proposals relating to modern educational reforms.
The meeting agreed that a composite strategy should be adopted so that government schools could provide world-class education to their students.
Murad Raas said that internationally acclaimed educational models will be introduced and added that teachers’ training will also be given special attention.
The meeting also agreed that steps should be taken to ensure that the 100 percent enrollment target is achieved and no child is deprived of his basic right to education.
ACTION TAKEN OVER CORPORAL PUNISHMENT
Murad Raas also took action over the news of corporal punishment to a ninth class student namely Furqan studying in a private academy in Shahdara.
The minister summoned CEO (education) Lahore and the management of the academy at his office here today and directed CEO (education) Naseem Ahmed Zahid to take legal action against the teacher responsible for administering corporal punishment of the student.
He also said that a mechanism should be devised so that government policy regarding educational institutions should be implemented in letter and spirit.
Later, he asked the CEO (education) to investigate the matter regarding occupation of science lab of Government Islamia High School Multan Road Lahore by the watchman. On his direction, a committee has been constituted under DO (secondary).
