Qadri demands release of commission report over Model Town carnage

LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri has demanded the release of Justice Baqar Najafi Commission Report on Model Town incident, ARY News reported on Saturday.

He made the demand while addressing a PAT’s rally against Model Town incident in Lahore via video link.

Qadri said that his party will continue their struggle for justice and Qisas of the victims. He added that the elements — held responsible for the incident in the commission’s report — should be exposed.

“The rulers will not be able to protect those who shed the blood of innocent people,” he added

The PAT

chief asked what was the object of the incident and why police had reached the area. He claimed that certain elements committed the atrocities as they were “afraid of a revolutionary movement”.

He said, “The first phase of our struggle has been completed. The second and third phase is still remaining.”

Qadri stated that the weapons used for firing in the incident were never sent to laboratory for forensic test. He added that high level police officers never appeared in the court.

Leaders from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam – Niazi group and other parties also addressed the rally.
