Syed Qaim Ali Shah held a meeting with Irrigation Department and other officials after arriving at Naukot Mithrayo Water Canal. Not a single landlord was present in the meeting.
CM Sindh, in a press conference after the meeting, said that there is no shortage of water but the resource is being unequally distributed due to the negligence of the police and irrigation department.
He further said that the people do not trust police but the provincial government will ask the security force to perform their duties. He also said that Rangers has been performing their duties well in Hyderbabad and Karachi.
“We cannot order Rangers to monitor the water distribution”, Shah added.
On the occasion, the landlord protested against the meeting of CM Sindh with the officials of the Irrigation Department. They said that Qaim Ali Shah is holding a meeting with “water thieves”.
“Our lands are being destroyed and the Chief Minister and the MNAs and MPAs are not allowing us to meet him”, feudals said.
Supporters of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) got enraged towards the journalists when CM Sindh was asked about the involvement of Parliamentarians and provincial assembly members in the water theft. The media persons protested when they were stopped to ask questions from CM Sindh.
