Talking to newsmen here, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar today said that as per prime minister’s clear directives there will be no increase in prices of petroleum products in the month of Ramazan.
He said the Ogra, a couple of days ago, had recommended increase in prices, but keeping Ramazan in view the recommendations were not approved.
Dar went on to say that PM Nawaz Sharif has issued clear directives to provide relief to the people in the holy month ahead, acting upon which, the decision was made to maintain petroleum prices at present.
He clarified that the government has received actual budget documents after being signed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in London.
The minister said that the premier signed the documents in accordance with Article 83 of the constitution, hence nullifying all constitutional objections to it by the critics.
