LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Wednesday termed National Accountability Bureau (NAB)’s reference against Finance Minister Ishaq Dar as a ‘joke’.
The law minister was talking to media persons when he questioned the legitimacy of the reference. “There should be a legal basis and justification for the charges put against Dar,” Sanaullah asserted.
He said that the finance minister received salaries from private and multinational companies worth millions of rupees.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) vice president Shah Mehmood Qureshi has demanded immediate resignation of Dar after the accountability court indicted him in accountability reference for possessing assets beyond his known sources of income.

Taking a swipe at Dar, Awami Mulsim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed on Wednesday said it is unfortunate that a sitting finance minister has been on trial for accumulating assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Speaking to ARY News, Rasheed slammed Finance Minister Ishaq Dar for not resigning in the aftermath of an anti-corruption watchdog’s reference against him, saying that it is a matter of shame that he is still holding office.
What else could be more humiliating for democracy than a minister sticking to his office despite facing a graft case, he questioned and added that he was ashamed to see such derision of the country.
