Rangers arrest ‘extortionist’ ASI in Karachi

The paramilitary force conducted a raid in the locality on a tip-off and arrested ASI Akram posted at Pakistan Bazar Police Station.

The ASI is facing charges of collecting extortion in the area and would use official official police van for the crime. After the arrest, he identified a spot where Rangers recovered seven abductees who were kidnapped for ransom.

The Rangers also seized four rifles and seven suicide vests from Akram’s possession.

The accused had also kept private security guards for his own protection. Further investigation is underway.
