Rangers form team to probe MQM worker’s death in custody

Aftab Ahmed was the coordinator of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s senior leader Farooq Sattar.

A high-level investigation body has been formed on the orders of DG Rangers (Sindh) Major General Bilal Akbar to investigate the motives behind Ahmed’s death, according to a press release issued by the para-military force.

It was also mentioned that the personnel, who may be involved in the act, have been suspended.

Sector Commander of Rangers will head the investigation. The committee has been instructed to complete its probe and bring out the truth in the shortest possible time.

MQM had alleged that Ahmed died in Rangers’ custody whereas the para-military force has claimed that he died of heart failure in a hospital.
