Twitterati roasts Virender Sehwag as Sri Lanka beat India

Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag who remains in the news less because of some cricketing wisdom and advice but because of his incendiary outbursts got roasted on Twitter soon after the Indian team lost the Champions Trophy encounter against underdogs Sri Lanka.

Sehwag who before the match, snobbishly remarked that the Sri Lankan team doesn’t have the spark to beat the Indian team, suddenly stopped tweeting after the Indian side led by Kohli were defeated by Sri Lanka which chased the highest ever total in the Champions Trophy history.

“I have to say only one thing that Sri Lanka is …. (he cackled) that wet match box which has left with no spark. I am positive that India for sure is going to get the ticket for the semi-final,” the former Indian cricketer now appearing as an “expert” in Indian TV shows had said.

Earlier, in a tweet Sehwag also called Pakistan ‘son’.

Here is what the Twitterati did with him after the match.

SEHWAG ACTUALLY REMAINED SILENT… AS THE TWEEP ABOVE ASKS

“ITNA SANNATA KYUN HA BHAI?

As for his son and grandson remark about Pakistan and Bangladesh, former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif, in a video  asked him “Now which of your sons is Sri Lanka?”.

The Lankan Victory

Sri Lanka staged a superb run chase to stun India and keep alive their Champions Trophy challenge as Kusal Mendis inspired a famous seven-wicket victory over the title holders on Thursday.

In response to Sehwag’s statement, Rashid Latif said the India’s defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka had bled them in such a way that they did not know where the blood was coming from.

He warned India of next clash against South Africa who will be pitting imposing players like Hashim Amla and Imran Tahir.

“Your return tickets are anticipated on Monday after clash with South Africa. Even if you manage to survive, then we will take revenge from you with additional interest like we did in the past,” he said.

The former wicket-keeper admitted that the Pakistan Cricket Board management had some men at the helm of affairs that were playing dirty politics which had damaged the national cricket.

He also dared India to resume playing cricket with Pakistan if they had the guts.

In the end, he praised several Indian players whom he had met for their dignity but in the same breath he expressed remorse over Virendar Sehwag.
