HARIPUR: Reham Khan, the former wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan, once again on Monday denied allegations of having contact with any Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader.
Reacting to the allegation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Murad Saeed about her alleged contacts with the PML-N leader, she warned him against indulging in mudslinging. “This young man should know why he should not risk his political career by slinging mud at me,” she said in a tweet.
MNA Ayesha Gulalai Wazir had earlier announced to leave the party in a press conference accusing her party chairman Imran Khan and his cronies of sending indecent text messages to female members. Subsequently, some PTI leaders alleged that Reham was conspiring with Gulalai to defame the PTI chief.
In a series of tweets on Monday, she said, “this young man should know that I can answer all his questions & others with evidence. The truth will hurt him.” “We will attach the invoice also in response to your question. I am not the one with skeletons in the closet young man.” She added, “Murad Saeed an elected MNA from Swat is working five days a week on a TV channel while his constituency suffers. I meet his party workers.”
“What msg are we giving to women? Speak out against harassment & it will be branded a conspiracy & other women will be dragged in the dirt,” she said in another tweeter.
“Before indulging in blame game, answer a few questions,” Murad asked Reham in response to her presser a day before. Addressing her, he asked, “Whose vehicle you were travelling in during your trip to Swat? Weren’t feasts arranged for you at the house of a political party’s leader? Whose personal assistant accompanied you during your trip.”
Addressing a press conference on Sunday, the former wife of Imran Khan said her patience should not be tested time and again. “I have nothing to do with the fresh allegations levelled against Imran as it is not my concern either to respond to accusations or defend him,” Reham asserted.
She further said she is not among the ‘backstabbers’ as well as not ‘answerable’ to anyone. “I have neither contacted Gulalai nor PML-N leader Amir Muqam,” she added.
Previously, some PTI leaders have suspected Reham to be behind the smear campaign against party chief Imran Khan, claiming Gulalai hurled accusations at behest of PML-N leader Amir Muqam and ex-wife Reham Khan.
