Releasing Farooq after brief detention tantamount to ridiculing law: Kaira

KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Qamar Zaman Kaira on Saturday said releasing Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan leader Farooq Sattar after a brief detention was tantamount to ridiculing law, ARY News reported.

“If he was after all arrested, then he should not have been released before getting bail from the court. Because such an incident is embarrassing for the law enforcement agencies, the law and the incumbent government itself,” he said while talking to ARY News program “Aitraz Hai” host.

He said though Farooq Sattar had dissociated with founder of MQM but the legitimacy of the cases lodged against him remained intact unless the claimants withdrew the cases or the government gave him immunity.

He admitted that incident of arrest of the MQM Pakistan leader in such manner was despicable.
