Rishi Kapoor in patriotic fever challenges Pakistan ahead of Champions Trophy final

The Pakistan-India cricket matches have always been worth watching for their intensity and unusual performances. The tense relations between two nations have not even spared the sports – indulging people from all walks of life in the rivalry – and this is very much apparent on the eve of ICC Champions Trophy Final between Pakistan and India as the Bollywood veteran actor Rishi Kapoor has taken to twitter, mocking Pakistani cricket team.

As India clinched a victory against Bangladesh by becoming the second finalist to face arch-rival Pakistan in the final on June 18, Kapoor took to twitter by stating, “We don’t need to say anything more! Tradition of destroying the opposition, as has always been the case, will continue! Blues are invincible!”

“Cricket blues” take to the

core of veteran Kapoor. In his initial tweet he did not mention Pakistan anywhere but in later tweet, he started mocking Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). “PCB Cricket team bhejna please. Earlier hockey ya Kho Kho team bhejin thin. Kyon ki 18th June (Fathers Day) Baap khel raha tumhare saath lol!”

This tweet prompted Pakistani fans to speak in defence, triggering exchange of heated words from both sides.

The Indian actor then went a step ahead and said, “Acha choddo yaar. Tum log jeeton aur hazaaron baar jeeto… sirf terrorism bandh kar do yaar. Mujhe haar manzoor hai. We want peace and love.”

Following this tweet, Pakistani Twitterati became more active.

To many athletes, it remained a matter of disappointing when people from both sides of the border bring dissension into sports.
