River Indus in medium flood at Guddu and Sukkur barrages

GUDDU: River Indus has been in medium flood level at Guddu and Sukkur barrages and low flood level at further downstream in Kotri Barrage, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

“The water level has dropped in Indus River at Guddu Barrage and the river has been in medium flood at barrage with 4,69,900 cusecs inflow and 4,43,400 cusecs outflow,” according to the figures shared by the Flood Forecasting Division (FFD).

Irrigation officials have said that the water level in the river could further drop in next 24 to 48 hours.

“Indus River has been in medium flood at Sukkur Barrage with 4,44,000 cusecs inflow and 4,05,700 cusecs outflow at the barrage.”

The river has been in low flood level at Kotri Barrage with 1,82,900 cusecs inflow and 1,44,900 cusecs outflow at the barrage,” according to the date shared by irrigation authorities.

The river’s water level surging in Khairpur district as several villages in Katcha area have submerged in the floodwater. “The river water has reached to Fareedabad protective dyke, Old Bundo protective dyke and Jamsher Bachao Bund.”

According to reports, the land link of over 200 villages disrupted and people of the affected areas evacuating to safer places on their own without any help from the local authorities.

According to earlier reports, an upsurge in water level in Indus River has submerged katcha area of Pir Jo Goth and Gambat taluka in Khairpur district. Land link of over 70 settlements in Pir Goth and Gambat has been disrupted. People have stranded in Sadiq Kalhoro, Mullan Ja Pattan, Keti Ghumra and other settlements.
