KARACHI: Chairman Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman announced that the moon for the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal was not sighted on Thursday evening and thus, Eid Milad-un-Nabi will fall on Nov 21.
A meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee took place this evening with Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman in the chair.
Following the meeting, he announced the moon for the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal was not sighted across the country and therefore, the new lunar month will commence from Nov 9 and 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal (Eid Milad-un-Nabi) will be celebrated on Nov 21.
The meeting was convened at the Pakistan Metrological Department in Karachi.
Earlier today, the Metrological Department said there are slight chances of the sighting of Rabi-ul-Awal moon on the evening of Thursday.
It said the new moon of Rabi-ul-Awwal, 1440 AH, will be born on crossing conjunction point at 21-02 PST on Nov 7.
