South Africa, in the third ODI against Zimbabwe, played at Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo opted to field after winning the toss.
Zimbabwean team, that was without their senior-most batsman Brendan Taylor, lost their opening pair at the score of 4.
Sikander Raza (30) along with Elton Chigumbura, who promoted himself to Taylor’s No. 4 position provided Zimbabwe, a partnership of 51.
Raza went out in the 11th over, Seam Williams in the twenty second over after scoring 17 off 51 balls leaving Chigumbura to steer the innings.
Following this, Zimbabwe suffered another collapse losing five wickets for 15 runs a six-over period left hosts at 119-9.
Chigumbura scored 90 off 122 balls to reach his highest ODI score. He got the supporting hand from Tinashe Panyangara, who dotted 12 balls scoring none. The two stretched score to 165.
Despite of Rilee Rossouw early departure, who got run-out in the first over, the Proteas chased the target inside 28 overs.
Quinton de Kock made 84, Faf du Plessis scored 40.
JP Duminy (28*) and David Miller (13*) finished off inning taking SA home.
