Salman Baloch confirms Farooq Sattar got slapped

KARACHI: Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) leader Salman Mujahid Baloch has claimed that the rumours that Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Amir Khan slapped his party convener on Monday were true.

“The process of groupings triggered within MQM-P following August 22 were prompted by personal interests rather than a Senate election or service to people,” he said talking to ARY News program ‘Off The Record’ on Tuesday.

He said neither it was an issue of the nation nor of voters or supporters. He said the remorseful incident of slapping a senior politician like Farooq Sattar took place only because of the differences on a Senate election.

The incident took place while a party session at MQM-P’s Bahadurabad office was underway on Monday when Amir Khan and some other leaders objected upon the nomination of Deputy Convener Kamran Tessori for Senate polls which turned into exchange of hot words.

ARY News anchor Kashif Abbasi probed if the former MQM leader could confirm the rumour of slapping the senior party leader, he said an insider had confirmed him that Farooq got slapped.

“It’s not an speculation. The people present in the meeting confirmed it to me,” he said.

When asked if it was Amir Khan who slapped him, Salman affirmed it.
