Salman Iqbal promises to send 15 young players to UK for training

KARACHI: President ARY Digital Network and owner of Karachi Kings Salman Iqbal on Sunday announced to send 15 boys to the United Kingdom for cricket training, ARY News reported.

“We have fulfilled all our promises. We will send 15 players of the winning team of ‘Karachi key Shehzaday’ (Saima Group) tournament to UK for three-month training,” he said while addressing inaugural ceremony of the tournament at Naya Nazimabad.

He lavished praise on former Pakistan skipper and Director Karachi Kings Rashid Latif for his time and hard work to pick 75 refined players for the tournament.

Sindh Sports Minister Sardar Muhammed Bukhsh Mehr, Rashid Latif and president Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry were also present on this occasion.

‘Karachi key Shehzaday’ features 5 teams namely Sharjah Cooking Oil, Igloo Icecream, Star Marketing, Saima Group and Mehran Food Industries.  The tournament starts on July 9 till July 16. The inaugural match is being played between Igloo Icecream and Star Marketing.

Salman Iqbal said he was working for the development of cricket in the country and “these players of the tournament will In sha Allah have a bright future in cricket.”

Glorifying the Pakistan Super League, the owner of Karachi Kings said four players of the team that won Champions Trophy were selected from PSL.

“The four players had showcased brilliant performance in PSL. Now PSL will contribute more good players for our national team,” he said.
