SC adjourns Amal Umar suo moto case till Oct 26

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday adjourned the Amal Umar suo moto case till Friday (October 26).

A bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, took up the case.

Amal was shot in her head in an exchange of fire between cops and robbers last month in Karachi.

As soon as hearing resumed today, CJP asked the Additional Attorney General (AAG) about the status of the investigation into the Amal murder case.

The investigation into the case is ongoing, replied the AAG, and pleaded the apex court to adjourn the case due to absence of advocate Faisal Siddiqui.

“We will hear Amal Suo Moto case on Friday in Karachi,” remarked CJP, after adjourning the hearing.

The girl along with her parents was on way, when she was hit by a bullet in her head while the robbers were robbing a car next to them.

Amal was rushed to the nearest hospital (National Medical Centre – NMC). The hospital gave oxygen to the injured girl by an Ambubag pumping manually. The doctor told them to shift her to another hospital.

The NMC neither provided them emergency medical aid, nor ambulance and even refused to give the Ambubag to help the injured reaching another hospital.

The family arranged another ambulance, however, Amal died on the way to the other hospital.
