The apex court heard government petition against release of Lakhvi, the alleged mastermind of 2008 Mumbai attacks.
The bench has sent back the case to the IHC on the ground that the decision of Lakhvi’s release was rushed. The court maintained that the high court must hear the arguments of the government and Lakhvi with ample time.
Justice Jawad S. Khawaja observed that the high court had apparently made the decision in hurry and the state was not given sufficient time to present its stance.
The IHC will hear again the case on Monday next week.
