SC orders three provinces to legislate on LB polls by Oct 16

Hearing the case of local bodies’ elections in Islamabad, a three member bench headed by Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk rejected the reply of Sindh government regarding delimitation of constituencies.

The apex court also directed the authorities to appoint permanent chief election commissioner within two weeks.

The SC directed the Sindh government to present a bill about delimitation of constituencies by Thursday.  It said the Sindh chief minister will be summoned if the provincial government failed to bring legislation on delimitation of constituencies by the prescribed time.
