A bench of SC headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard the plea filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate in the 2013 general elections Usman Dar.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan had filed a petition claiming the 2013 general elections were massively rigged and pleaded the court to order verification of the voters’ thumb impressions.
In the hearing of the petition, PTI’s counsel had said that large number of fake votes were casted in the 2013 general elections and were demanding recount of votes and verification of thumb impressions in four constituencies namely NA-122 Lahore, NA-125 Lahore, NA-154 Lodhran and NA-110 Sialkot.
The lawyer also said that the party was raising the issue since the results were announced and the Interior Ministry Chaudhry Nisar announced himself that thousands of fake votes were casted in every constituency.
The court ordered National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to submit the investigation report in three months.
