The notification issued by the Home Department has imposed ban on public gathering for next two months in the red zone area.
Sources said MQM workers were anticipated to gather at KPC for protest over closure of MQM offices. Viewing this menace the prohibition has been imposed so that the possibility of protest could be averted.
Earlier, the federal government decided to seal the offices of MQM across Pakistan with a likely ban on the political party on Tuesday.
The decision with regard to the ban on MQM will be taken within next few days, well-placed government sources said.
On the other hand, senior MQM leader Farooq Sattar said MQM completely denounced anti-Pakistan statements and would not allow ‘hostile acts’ to take place from its platform.
