Law enforcement agencies (LEA) and police officials arrested at least seven suspected persons during search operations near the famous Punjab University.
Rounds of snap checking were also performed near Lahore’s railway station and other parts of the city.
The city has been put on high alert after LEA officials received terror threats for Lahore before Eid-ul-Azha.
Sources disclosed that buildings of government institutes in Lahore were particularly on the target list of terrorists in the latest threat following which the scope of search operations have been widen up in the city.
Officials said they were taking all the measures to prevent any unpleasant episode from happening in the city and Punjab.
During recent combing operations against terror elements in Faisalabad on Jhang Road, at least seven more suspected persons were apprehended from a seminary, recovering weapons.
Security forces claimed to have conducted similar search rounds in the same seminary in the past as well where a majority of Afghan students get religious education.
