RAWALPINDI: Spokesman for Pakistan armed forces, Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor on Tuesday said be it Pakistan Super League (PSL) final or any other mega event, providing security is responsibility of Pakistan Army, ARY News reported.
“Wherever Pakistan Army is given task, it would perform duty with full responsibility,” he said exclusively talking to ARY News.
He said Operation Zarb-e-Azb was launched to establish writ of the government and survival of Pakistan, whereas Operation Radd-ul-Fassad was launched to eradicate illegal arms from the country.
Asif Ghafoor said the purpose behind new operation was to more strengthen Pakistan and all its institutions need to play their role in this regard.
“There’s no timeframe for Operation Radd-ul-Fassad,” he responded to a query adding that this operation was not specific to Army, Rangers or police, but all the institutions should help each other to make it successful.
He said Army only cleared the Waziristan area and then all other institutions started playing their role.
The DG ISPR said responsibility for the current wave of terrorism was claimed by terrorists from Afghanistan. He said enemies drew advantage of the tension between the two neighboring countries which would badly affecting both the countries.
He said Indian spy agency RAW’s assistance to terrorists present in Afghanistan should be highlighted on political platform.
“We do not have to establish peace in one province, but in all Pakistan. Terrorists have no country or province and they only do propaganda to make united nations fight,” he said.
