ISLAMABAD: Security red alert has been declared at all major airports of Pakistan after terrorist attack at Jinnah International Airport of Karachi on Sunday night, ARY News reported on Monday.
The ministry of interior has declared security high alert at all airports of the country including Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad and the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore.
The airports have beeen placed on red alert with stepped up security at all internal roads of the airports and parking lots.
Security has been tightened at Moen jo Daro and Nawabshah airports in interior of Sindh, Quetta International Airport in Balochistan, Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Islamabad and Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore.
Security high alert declared at Bacha Khan Airport of Peshawar and police patrolling has been increased, while strict search being conducted at the internal and adjacent roads of the airport.
In December 15, 2012 attack at Bacha Khan airport five attackers and four civilians were killed, while 40 others were injured in the terrorism incident.
Tehreek e Taliban had claimed responsibility of the attack.
