Senior Journalist, Nawaiwaqt head Majid Nizami passes away

Nizami, 86 was a heart patient and was under treatment at a private medical facility in Lahore. He took hold of Nawaiwaqt media group after the death of his elder brother and legendary journalist Hameed Nizami.

His funeral prayers will be offered in Lawrence Garden at 9:00 AM in the morning.

Majid took the reins of the media house after its founder Hameed Nizami died. He, like his brother was a firm believer of Ideology of Pakistan and fought through his pen for the cause till the last moments of his life.

His anti-India, pro- Kashmir stance was evident from his publication’s policies, all of which presented such views in abundance.

Nawaiwaqt even never presented Bollywood news despite wide readership of such gossip in Pakistan.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, President Mamnoon Hussain, Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif and  Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain expressed grief over his death.
