Shafaat Ali does Chand Nawab from Karachi’s National Stadium

Just as Pakistan Super League (PSL) and all the fun that the cricket league brings with it has entered Karachi, ARY News show ‘Bakhabar Savera’ host Shafaat Ali too took his art to the city’s National Stadium.

Known for his exceptional mimicry skills, Shafaat Ali not only took the audiences to the stadium to see the final preparations for PSL matches but also mimicked Prime Minister Imran Khan while urging sports lovers to come and see the matches.

His final act, however, was the funniest as he parodied reporter Chand Nawab and his reporting in the viral video which made him famous both in India and Pakistan.

Shafaat Ali chose a busy spot in the stadium to mimic what Chand Nawab did at a railway station in Karachi.

Nawab grabbed internet’s attention after a video of him speaking to the camera while being continuously shoved and pushed by passers-by at a railway station went viral in 2008.  He lost his job back then but seven years later when a Salman Khan starrer Bollywood flick introduced a character inspired by him.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui played Chand Nawab in 2015’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan bringing fame and fortune to the real Chand Nawab.
