Shahbaz Sharif appears before Model Town incident JIT

According to sources, Shahbaz Sharif, in his statement said that he didn’t issue any order to Punjab Police for operation in Model Town.

CM Punjab added that he was not even aware about the Punjab Police’s action in Model Town to remove barriers.

“Then Law Minister Rana Sanaullah didn’t took me in confidence about the operation in Model Town”, said Shahbaz Sharif.

Shahbaz Sharif himself visited the office of Joint Investigation Team to record the statement.

Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) has questioned the legality of the JIT formed by Punjab government to probe Model Town firing incident.

On June 17, 2014, at least 14 PAT workers were killed and dozens other injured in clashes with law enforcement personnel at Model Town area of Lahore.
