Sheikh Rasheed offers to play mediator’s role between Naeem, Gandapur

KARACHI: Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rasheed on Thursday offered to play a role of mediator between Spokesman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Naeemul Haq and Secretary General of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, ARY News reported.

He said he would talk to both the leaders and hold a gathering to calm down tension between them.

“No idea how it all erupted. Both my brothers spat fires on each other. I had been busy all the day, now I will talk to them. Hopefully, the matter will resolve amicably,” he said in a weary tone while talking to ARY News.

A chaotic situation erupted outside the Supreme Court building when Naeemul Haq barred Khurram Nawaz Gandapur from speaking to media.

Gandapur was approaching the podium occupied by Haq, but the latter reportedly pushed and shoved the PAT leader, leading to arguments and bickering between them.

The AML leader immediately stepped in and calmed the situation down. However, visibly incensed PAT leader continued to bash Naeemul Haq and his lawyers.

Sheikh Rasheed blamed media for adding fuel to the fire by overlooking the Panama Leaks case of paramount importance and focusing the spar more.

To a query, he said Naeemul Haq could not recognize Gandapur as he never met him and only talked on telephone.
