LAHORE: Sharjeel Khan submitted his reply in spot-fixing probe on Wednesday where his lawyer rejected all the accusations of fixing levelled on his client by the Pakistan Cricket Board.
A press release issued by the PCB stated Sharjeel Khan’s lawyer is not convinced with the way PSL sport-fixing case is proceeded and he has raised the issue in before the board, but will not go to the court on the issue.
“Later, Mr Sharjeel Khan, through his counsel Mr Shaigan Ejaz, filed his answering brief before the Tribunal and copies of the same were also provided to the Board.
“Under the Code, PCB, if it so desires, may file a reply brief to Mr Sharjeel Khan’s answering brief by May 13, 2017. Day to day hearings shall commence from May 15, 2017, onwards,” the press release said.
“We raised the point that the PCB Code of Conduct is against the Constitution of Pakistan,” Sharjeel’s lawyer said in reply.
“We reject all the allegations levelled by the PCB on Sharjeel,” his lawyer further said.
He claimed that Islamabad United’s opener has not breached any code of conduct. He has also submitted replies of expert witnesses that include Islamabad United’s head coach Dean Jones, former Pakistan batsmen Sadiq Mohammad and Mohammad Yousuf.
