Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy responded by tweeting an answer to a question posed by a follower on Twitter. Here is the complete tweet for you to see:-

Syed Noor’s 2011 film The Price of Honour is based on an impoverished girl who battles the status quo in her quest to seek rights to education and equality. Sharmeen Obaid’s A Girl In The River: The Price Of Forgiveness is based on an 18 year-old girl who survived a near-fatal attack on her life, when she was shot in the face and thrown into the river. The attempt on her life had been made in the name of honour, since she had fallen in love with someone. On Monday, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy had won the Oscar award for Best Documentary-Short Subject for A Girl In The River: The Price Of Forgiveness. Felicitations from all around the world as well as in Pakistan also poured in for the Saving Face filmmaker. Even Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had thanked Sharmeen on her Academy Award win in a tweet.

We think Sharmeen Obaid has a strong point. How does one copy a documentary based on facts from a fiction film?
