KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday ordered Allah Dino Khawaja to continue his post as Inspector General (IG) Sindh until a final verdict announced in the case, ARY News reported.
During the proceeding, the court inquired the details about Sindh cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and its agenda by further inquiring whether the agenda was circulated before the meeting relating dismissal of the IG Sindh.
The court also rejected Advocate General’s request of setting aside its stay orders in the case.
Before the hearing today, the Sindh government submitted an affidavit with the court which stated that the provincial government has surrendered the services of A.D Khawaja to the federal government, which did not violate the court orders or commit ‘ the contempt of court’.
The court adjourned the hearing till April 11.
A cabinet meeting yesterday, presided over by Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, decided to relieve A.D. Khawaja from his services as Inspector General of Sindh Police, three days after the court suspended the Sindh government order to remove the top cop from his post.
On Saturday, A.D. Khawaja was removed from his post and Sardar Abdul Majeed Dasti was given a temporary and additional charge of the chief of Sindh Police but on Monday Sindh High Court (SHC) suspended the notification issued to remove Khawaja and directing him to continue his work as IG Sindh.
