She was a singer and I am a singer too, it will be interesting– Alia Bhatt on portraying Nazia Hassan

Could it be that a biopic starring Alia Bhatt might be on the way? Better it, could it be based on Pakistani sensational singer Nazia Hassan, who took over the music industry and dominated not only Pakistani music but the Indian charts as well?

Talking to media personnel, Alia Bhatt stated that she would love to push herself as an actress and experiment with a challenging role in a biopic. And what did she have in mind? A biopic on Nazia Hassan.

“I did not think much about it but I think I should do it now,” Alia Bhatt said whilst speaking to media personnel, in Mumbai. “I would love to do biopic on Pakistani pop sensation Nazia Hassan who died at an early age of 35. She was a singer and I am a singer too, so it will be interesting,” she added.

Bollywod has seen a fair share of Bollywood flicks, from Mangal Panday to Bhaag Milka Bhaag. Upcoming Bollywood biopics include one on Sanjay Dutt, Aamir Khan’s Dangal and Emraan Hashmi’s Azhar.

Alia Bhatt has sang songs for her movies. She sung Main Tenu Samjhawan Ki and Sooha Saaha.

Alia Bhatt will star in an upcoming movie alongside Shahid Kapoor, titled Shandaar. Alia Bhatt has danced to a couple of songs in the movie with the recently-married Shahid Kapoor. Needless to say, she had nothing but nice words for the Kapoor lad.

“Shahid is such a good dancer and I have to work hard to reach his level on screen,” she said.

Shandaar will release on October 22.
