MARDAN: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Mian Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government did nothing for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and instead opted for politics of agitation which harmed the country, ARY News reported.
Speaking to a party rally in Mardan city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shehbaz Sharif said that PTI chief Imran Khan promised development, education and employment but his party’s government only staged sit-ins in last five years.
“He (Imran Khan) promised a new Pakistan, health, employment and development but their motto was ‘Din Raat Dharna Koi Kaam Na Karna’ (No work, only sit-ins),” said Shehbaz Sharif.
He also maintained that PTI chief mocked Lahore’s Metro Bus project and its huge budget by saying that they (PTI) are working on a similar project in Peshawar with bigger budget but are still failing to complete the project in time.
Shehbaz Sharif who took over party reins after his brother Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification, told people of Mardan, that if they vote for PML-N he will develop Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the same fashion as Punjab.
He reminded the people of Mardan that “Imran Khan was in Nathiagali when people were dying from dengue in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa”.
About PTI’s April 29 rally in Lahore, he said that people of Lahore may not welcome Imran Khan but development projects completed by his government surely will greet the PTI chief.
