Malik said that the team should take advantage of having reached into the playoff stage, adding that he could not heed on performance while heading the squad.
“Ravi Bopara is a wonderful player and can help Karachi Kings lift the Pakistan Super League (PSL) trophy,” he said at a presser in Dubai this evening.
The star all-rounder said he has always played selflessly and that he is ready to even sit outside if it makes Karachi win at the end of the day. “I want to concentrate on my batting after getting relieved from responsibility to lead the squad,” said the all-rounder.
He hoped that the team will put up a good show tomorrow in its playoff clash with Islamabad United.
Shoaib Malik praised the team owner Mr. Salman Iqbal for bucking up players in spite of weak performance in a couple of matches.
Islamabad United’s Shane Watson and Dwayne Bravo of Lahore Qalandars also led their sides in the group stage when Misbah-ul-Haq got injured and Azhar Ali elected to sit out.
