Shootout leaves two policemen, two terrorists dead in Quetta

QUETTA: A shootout at Sirki Road in Quetta left two police officers martyred and two militants dead on Sunday evening.

Two pedestrians also got injured in the attack, who were right away rushed to the Civil Hospital Quetta for medical treatment.

Falcon Force retaliated and killed two assailants after they opened fire on traffic police officials, while one culprit managed to flee in injured condition, said DIG Abdul Razzaq.

“The officers on patrol nearby heard the gunshots and rushed to the scene. They engaged the attackers in firing and killed them on the spot,” he said.

Police said an investigation was launched after collecting the evidences from the crime scene.

The Balochistan government has announced a reward of Rs1 million for any information on the militants. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Last week, at least five suicide bombers were killed as Frontier Corps’ personnel responded to a terrorist attack on a FC Madadgar Centre in Quetta.
