Shruti Haasan begins filming for international title 'The Eye'

After her impressive debut in the international TV series, ‘Treadstone’, Shruti Haasan has now started working on her next title ‘The Eye’.
After a successful stint in both Bollywood and South Indian film industries, Shruti is on her way to win over the international audience with her performances and is already on her second title.

As per the reports, the ‘Luck’ actor has kickstarted the filming schedule for the psychological thriller called ‘The Eye’ in Athens and Corfu. According to the details, Daphne Schmon directorial flick, starring Mark Rowley with Haasan, follows the story of a widow who ‘returns to a greek island to spread her deceased husband’s ashes’.
Speaking of the title, Melanie Dicks of Fingerprint Content (who is co-producing the project with a greek production company, Argonauts Productions) said, “Kicking our slate off with an exciting debut feature for Daphne Schmon and Emily Carlton, ‘The Eye’ is the culmination of four years of collaboration, an ambitious and hugely exciting period piece.”
“We have an incredible team, with a strong stakeholder and production group. It’s an extraordinary project to launch with.”
On the other hand, Haasan who stars in an unannounced role in ‘The Eye’, said that it had been a dream ‘to share stories through music, words and the visual medium’ of cinema.

“The concept of widening that net and being able to do that globally is beyond exciting – it’s so wonderful to be a part of such a wonderful team – that too led by incredibly talented women is something that is extra special,” she noted.
“It’s a beautiful story and I’m so honoured to share it with people,” Haasan concluded.
Apart from Haasan and Rowley, the ensemble cast of the title features Anna Savva, Linda Marlowe and Christos Stergioglou. More details regarding the release of the film are yet to be disclosed.
