Sindh announces three-day holiday for Chehlum, LB polls

Government schools and educational institutes will remain closed from December 3 to 5 (Thursday to Saturday). The decision was made in order to ensure security on Chehlum Imam Hussain (RA) and during LB polls in the megapolis.

On Thursday and Saturday, a public holiday was announced due to Chehlum and local polls in the city respectively.

The government, however, decided to keep schools and educational institutes closed on Friday for the delivery of election material.

It should also be noted here that thousands of teachers and government employees have also been handed charge of returning and presiding officers for the LB elections.

However, the private school bodies have not yet announced whether they will stick to government’s decision.

Rangers and police have already been put on high alert in order to ensure security on Chehlum and LB polls in Karachi.
