The bill is likely to stir heated debate amid existing tense relations between ruling Pakistan People’s Party and their parting ally Muttahida Qaumi Movement, who has recently announced to quit the coalition with the PPP in Sindh government.
The assembly is set to take up the amendment in Sindh local government law today to transfer the powers of the provincial government to the Election Commission of Pakistan to enable it to carry out the delimitation work for the local bodies polls in the province.
MQM parliamentary party leader Syed Sardar Ahmad said their parliamentary party would meet before the session to devise strategy for the session.
The political alliance between the PPP and MQM formed after 2008 elections when the PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari visited the MQM headquarter Nine-Zero.
