Sindh CM angry with IG Sindh over rising crimes in Karachi

KARACHI: Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah expressed his disappointment over the rising graph of crime in Karachi in a telephonic conversation with Inspector General Sindh Police Allah Dino Khawaja, ARY News reported on Monday.

Shah in his telephone call to Sindh Police chief expressed his anger over not informing him about an attack on a van of a private news channel which claimed the lives of its assistant cameraman.

According to the reported conversation Murad Ali Shah said, “Why wasn’t I informed of the terrorist attack in the city? I got information of the incident through the reports of news channels.” “You are not of any use to me in my team,” the chief minister reportedly said.

“Why crimes have surged in the metropolis and where is the police to control the situation,” he questioned the chief minister.

He also asked, “Who is responsible for the attack? the Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), District Superintendent of Police (DSP) or the Station House Officer (SHO).

An assistant cameraman of a local television channel was shot dead and van driver injured on Sunday after their van came under fire near KDA Chowrangi in North Nazimabad area of the city.

The DSNG van driver and assistant cameraman sustained injuries in the attack. Both the injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical attendance where assistant cameraman, Taimur Abbas, succumbed to gunshot wounds.

Earlier, a police mobile van was attacked with a cracker blast near Five Star Chowrangi in the metropolis.
