KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Friday said that all the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) with their concerted efforts did a wonderful job during Muharram.
“By the grace of God and coordinated efforts of all the LEAs excellent security arrangements were made all over Sindh, particularly in Karachi where two major events, Muharram majalis and Bohra Jamaat congregation, passed peacefully,” he said while talking to Director General Rangers Major General Mohammad Saeed who called on him here at the CM House.
The Sindh CM said that in the majalis of Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin were attended by over 35,000 people from 30 countries. Similarly, thousands of majalis and mourning processions were also held in the city pacifically, he said.
“Thanks God! everything passed away peacefully,” he said and added that all the credit goes to LEAs.
He also discussed the security arrangements for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) cricket matches to be held in February 2018 in Karachi. On this, the DG Rangers apprised the CM that the security in-charge of PCB had met him to discuss the standard of security the PCB was looking for.
“No issue, the special security arrangements would be made as per the Pakistan Cricket Board standards and requirements,” he said.
Sindh CM Murad and Saeed also discussed on-going targeted operation launched against terrorists in the metropolis.
The targeted operation has produced best results in the city, they both agreed.
