ISLAMABAD: President Arif Alvi has accepted the resignation of Sindh Governor Imran Ismail on Monday, ARY News reported.

According to details, the president accepted the resignation of Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and a notification has also been issued in this regard. 

Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani will be the acting governor of Sindh until the new appointment.

On the other hand, President Dr. Arif Alvi has directed the Punjab Governor Omar Sarfraz Cheema to continue in office till a decision is taken on the summary of his removal.

It may be recalled that the federal government had yesterday removed Punjab Governor Omar Sarfraz Cheema from office, but Cheema, reacting to his removal, had said that the Prime Minister does not have the power to remove me from office. The President has.
