Sindh govt appoints AIG Thebo as new Karachi police chief

KARACHI:  The Sindh government on Monday reshuffled the Sindh police, appointing Additional Inspector General of Police Ghulam Qadir Thebo as new Karachi police chief, ARY News reported. 

According to a notification issued by the provincial government, Thebo replaced AIGP Mushtaq Mahar, who was transferred and appointed as head of Traffic police.

The notification said, “Ghulam Qadir Thebo, an officer of Police Services of Pakistan (BS-21), chairman of Inquires and Anti-Corruption Establishment Sindh, is transferred and posted with immediate effect and until further orders as Additional Inspector General of Police, Karachi Range.”

of Police Service of Pakistan BS-21, Additional Inspector General of Police Karachi Range is transferred and posted with immediate effect and until further orders as Additional Inspector General of Police, Traffic Police Sindh,” it read.

Whereas, AIGP Khadim Hussain Bhatti, the incumbent traffic police head, was transferred and posted as head of the Sindh police’s Research, Development & Inspection branch. Sardar Abdul Majeed was transferred and appointed as AIGP, Sindh, Karachi. Dr Aftab Ahmed Pathan was posted as the head of crime branch relieving Dr Sanaullah Abbasi, the head of CTD police, of additional charge of the department.
