Ten percent Adhoc Relief Allowance on running basic pay has also been announced for all the employees of Sindh government with effect from 1st July 2015.
Sindh Minister for Finance Syed Murad Ali Shah presenting the budget in the house announced that the total receipts for the next financial year are estimated at 727 billion rupees as against budget estimate of 672 billion rupees for current financial year showing an overall increase of 8.2 percent.
The budget shows an overall increase of 7.7 per cent against the budget estimate of 686 billion rupees for the ongoing financial year.
In budget the province’s development expenditure has been estimated at 213.6 billion rupees which includes provincial Annual Development Program (ADP) of 177 billion rupees.
Current revenue expenditure of the province is estimated at 503.34 billion rupees against budget estimate of 436.09 billion rupees for current financial year indicating increase of 15.4 percent.
The finance minister in his budget speech claimed that the budget was prepared with focus on overall prosperity of the people by optimal utilization of the resources to attain the targets of socio-economic development.
Government employees are expected to get 10 per cent pay raise while the minimum monthly salary has been fixed at Rs 13,000.
Earlier, the Sindh Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Saturday approved budget proposals for the fiscal year 2015-16.
The budget session of the house chaired by Speaker Siraj Durrani continued with commotion from the opposition benches. The uproar from opposition continued to disturb the house proceedings despite repeated requests from the chair. The finance minister continued his budget speech amid opposition benches disapproving slogans.
