Sipah-e-Sahaba militant arrested for facilitating terrorists involved in Sehwan blast

KARACHI: Karachi police on Monday claimed to have arrested a suspected militant for allegedly facilitating the terrorists involved in 2017 blast at Lal Shehbaz Qalandar’s shrine in Sehwan city of Sindh, ARY News reported.

According to SSP West Rizwan, the man named Sabir alias Doodhwala belongs to banned Sipah-e-Sahab Pakistan and was arrested from city’s Baldia Town area.

He added that the suspected militant was taken into custody for providing accomodation to three terrorists who traveled to Sehwan in order to carry out the terrorist activity.

The suspect

told media that he was not aware that militants staying in his house were planning a terrorist activity in Sehwan and was only ordered to let them stay at his house by a banned organisation’s commander.

SSP West claimed that arms and ammunition including hand grenades were recovered from the suspect’s custody who also confessed killing four people.

Eighty-two people were killed and 383 others wounded when on February 16, 2017, a suicide bomber blew himself up at the packed-to-capacity courtyard of shrine of Hazrat Lal Shehbaz Qalandar.
