KARACHI: The factory fire in SITE industrial area of Karachi extinguished on Monday after hours long struggle by the firefighters, ARY News reported.
The authorities have decided to initiate an inquiry in the third degree that engulfed the garment factory building near siemens Chowrangi in Site area.
The fire erupted at dying section of the three-storey building due to presence of chemicals rapidly engulfed the factory.
The cooling process has been set in in the building after the blaze put out.
The factory workers tried to put out the fire on the self help basis before the fire tenders reached to the scene.
According to fire brigade officials fire tenders participated in fire fighting. The fire officials said that the chemicals stored in a room inside the factory could be likely cause of the blaze.
A factory fire in 2012 in Karachi’s Baldia Town resulted in death of more than 250 workers and injured 600 people in one of the worst industrial fire incident of the country.
