ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser on Monday extended offer to the opposition parties for national dialogue, ARY News reported.
In a major development in the unfolding political situation, Speaker Asad Qaiser, a stalwart of the ruling Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI),in a statement said that the parliament was ready to play its role for national dialogue to promote solidarity and harmony.
“The country is facing internal and external threats along with the economic challenges, Speaker Qaiser said. The time warrants greater solidarity and harmony in the country, he further said.
It is essential for the national political leadership to remain on the same page for solution of the problems, he opined.
The speaker requested the national political leadership to come forward, extend cooperation and give proposals and recommendations over the matter.
Speaker said that the national dialogue is the need of the time. The judiciary and opposition leaders had also earlier suggested a dialogue on the parliament level.
Parliament, the sole representative institution of the people, is ready to play its role for national dialogue, the statement added.
