SSG best special force of the world, says army chief

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa on Saturday said the Special Service Group (SSG) of the Pakistan Army has proved itself as the world’s best special force through its professional performance and great sacrifices.

Speaking at a ceremony held at the SSG headquarters in connection with the appointment of its first colonel commandant, the army chief hailed the force’s unmatched contributions especially during counter terrorism operations, according to a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Major General Abid Rafiq was installed as first colonel commandant of SSG.

“SSG of Pakistan Army is best special force of the world and they have proved it through professional performance and great sacrifices of their sweat and blood,” COAS was quoted as saying.

The army chief laid floral wreath at Martyrs Monument upon his arrival at the headquarters.
